Keeping Busy During Lockdown

The prospect of another lockdown in the same year as an already lengthy period of confinement will be stressful for many of us. So how can we keep busy in this strange time? Here are some tips on how to keep busy during lockdown.

Take up a new hobby and look after yourself

If you are stuck at home, working or otherwise, the sight of the same four walls for hours on end might be daunting. Why not take this opportunity to learn something new? From online classes to virtual meetups such as book clubs, the internet offers plenty of opportunities to learn from and alongside others.

Isolation can be stressful. To keep yourself in tip-top shape, eat lots of fruit and vegetables and drink lots of water, as well as making sure you get enough sleep. Your body and your brain will thank you!

Get lots of exercise and get outside

Those of us with pets will know the particular comfort that comes with the warmth and companionship living with a furry creature can bring. Even better if you can exercise your pet outside! Go for long walks or runs with your dog or practise your yoga poses in your living room with a little help from some friends!

As the days become shorter, our mood can be affected by the reduced daylight hours. Whether or not you have a garden, make sure you get outside to get some sunlight and fresh air every day. You will immediately see the benefits to your wellbeing.

Regardless of how you choose to spend your time during lockdown, on moving day make sure you choose a trusted local company that follows government guidelines and safety regulations. With Gallagher’s of Newcastle, you can rest assured that your move will be smooth, stress-free and above all, safe!
